Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, has made an entry into a joint venture with HRX, the Indian fitness brand. As a fraction of the joint venture, the firm has rolled out Mi Band-HRX Edition in India. Having a price tag of Rs 1,299, the fitness tracker will be accessible in India at all the top online stores beginning this month.
The Xiaomi Mi Band sports a 0.42-inch OLED screen that displays information about health along with other statistics such as a heart rate monitor. Apart from the heart rate sensor, Mi Band 2 tracks the counts the steps and sleep of the wearer taken employing the upgraded pedometer. It is IP 67 rated that makes it water resistant and it features a hypoallergenic silicone band as well.
As per the company, Xiaomi Mi Band sports an anodized 0.05-mm button resting on the oval screen to move through various options in the menu, a military-grade ADI accelerometer, and 2nd-generation Bluetooth v4.0. The latest Mi Band will also be displaying notifications of the smartphone on the screen and will give a vibration alert similar to its precursor.
The band has a weight of 7 Gram and will be accessible in Blue, Black, Orange, and Green colors. It can synchronize with smartphones operating on iOS 7, Android 4.4, and higher variants.
Mi Band-HRX Edition is an altered copy of successful Mi Band 2 of Xiaomi for its Indian Mi aficionados. Mi Band 2 is the top fitness wearable in the world with 3.5 Million units being traded all over the world in Q2, according to IDC. Xiaomi is the largest wearable seller all over the world with 13.4% according to IDC Q2 report.
