The common eating disorder forms are bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. It is found in both males and females.

The abnormalities in the behavior of eating may be due to the variations in the physical structure, or gender, or the mental condition of a person. It is also found that media too plays a role in capturing the mind of their audiences which may result in a negative influence.

If you are disturbing your daily routine of eating in order to achieve those extra kilos or to lose those extra kilos then you are inviting a lot of trouble to your body. The consequences might be harsh thus do always consult a dietitian before playing with your body.

In a new research, it is found that women are mostly affected by eating disorder. It is also found that mental stress or mental disorder can be a reason for the abnormal eating habits which can gradually affect the person’s mental and physical health.

Su Holmes, the researcher from the University of East Anglia, has stated that it is important to highlight that the study was not only based on the assumption that problems related to the gender identity are pertinent to the treatment and the experience of the eating disorders in the girls and women. They have also focused on the eating methods and the body distress. And this was also considered in the male patients and the remaining population.

In the study, the researchers examined the female participants that were in the age group of 19 to 51 years for over a period of 10 weeks. All of them were diagnosed with anorexia. Anorexia is a type of eating disorder in which the person has a low amount of food in order to maintain a low body weight.

The results also proved that the people who are diagnosed with these eating disorders are passive victims that are mainly influenced by the society and the media.
